Senior Electronics Engineer Main Duties & Responsibilities The role of Senior Electronics Engineer is key in the development of an in-wheel motor range throughout the entire lifecycle of the products. Electronics Engineers are responsible for defining and designing the electronics and verifying that the electronics design meets the requirements set out by internal and external customers and working with other teams to ensure product delivery to time, quality and cost targets. Reporting, Location & Travel This role reports to the Electronics Manager and is based out of our Surrey Office with some flexibility for home working and an occasional requirement for national and international travel, including to China. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, although are not limited to the following: Full life cycle design from initial concept through to productionisation Digital and analogue electronics design Sensor and sensor conditioning design and development Simulation, calculation and circuit design Writing design specifications and reports Driving validation and verification activities Work in accordance with the Electronics Team Processes as well as Development Process and Business Management Process Ensuring design adhere to functional safety requirements Supporting manufacturing activities in UK and ChinaRelevant Skills & Competencies We welcome and encourage behaviours in line with our 'Values in Practice: Will to Win: we succeed by delivering to customers; on time, on quality and on cost Pioneering: we are passionate about the technology Courageous: we face our challenges Working Together: we can rely on each other and others can rely on us Personally Responsible: we do what needs doing, when it needs doing With Integrity: we are honest, open and respectfulRelevant Knowledge & Experience Candidates should assess their suitability against the following essential and/or desirable relevant knowledge and experience: Essential: Good degree in Electronic Engineering or other relevant subject. Strong experience in simulation, design, analysis and test of electronics systems Experience in design of embedded processors, sensors and interfacing electronics Multiple journeys through complete development lifecycles Design for EMC; analysing and rectifying compliance issues Design for Manufacture/TestDesirable: Design for functional safety to ISO26262 (ideally ASIL D) or similar Strong working knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards. i.e BS EN60664, LV124 Familiarity with Infineon Aurix microprocessors and AUTOSAR Knowledge of communications buses, i.e. CAN, SPI, I2C Design, development and test of SMP Experience of interfacing with high voltage power electronics Thermal modelling and simulation Familiarity with relevant automotive legislation, standards and guidelines Calculation of component stress & de-rating and reliability estimation Familiarity with Altium Designer Using and applying DFMEA Experience in an automotive OEM or Tier 1 suppliers
