MANE are currently recruiting for a Senior CNC Machinist for our Aerospace client based in Bedfordshire for a Late Shift contract role. Job Specification: Senior CNC Machinist Nature of Work: As a Senior CNC Machinist you will be responsible for preparing and proving out basic to complex programs and operating production runs within our high-tech machine shop, producing component parts for the aircraft interiors business. Level of Work: Responsibilities: Efficiently and accurately set up a wide range of Fanuc-controlled CNC milling and turning machinery to produce various component parts, from basic to complex, for low-batch, high-mix production runs. Create or edit basic CNC programs using G & M code instructions. Operate machines to produce parts in accordance with the daily production plan. Conduct self-inspection of repeat work using appropriate inspection equipment. Perform regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on machinery. Report production issues and defects to the Team Lead and production engineering team. Support the business in implementing continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency. Monitor and document operational performance and provide feedback to the Team Lead. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers and support teams. Maintain quality standards by understanding and adhering to the quality management system. Comply with all company EH&S and compliance guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized working environment by adhering to housekeeping, 5S, and FOD rules, ensuring a best-in-class workspace at all times. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Education & Experience: City and Guilds CNC/NC qualifications or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in CNC machining within a precision engineering environment. Strong background in the use of various CNC milling and/or turning machinery. Good understanding of Fanuc control systems. Extensive knowledge of machine tooling and inspection measuring equipment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce components to high-quality standards. Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and data. Strong EH&S awareness in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work unsupervised. Good verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Education & Experience: Good knowledge of metallurgy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Experience with lean manufacturing techniques. Experience in completing projects for process improvement.
