Hello, My client, based in Egham, is looking for a Quality Inspector to join their busy team due to expansion. Job Purpose: To verify the conformity of component parts and assemblies to specified standards and create control programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure quality and compliance within the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities Component and Assembly Inspection: Inspect parts and assemblies to meet data package requirements using various measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, verniers, CMM, and faro arms). Verify machine tool setup processes by inspecting component parts. Perform batch sampling inspections to ensure product consistency. Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct First Article inspections in line with standards. Perform component and assembly tests according to Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) using equipment such as power supplies, digital multimeters, torque transducers, and oscilloscopes. Create test procedures for new projects and test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems. CMM Programming and Management: Develop a CMM matrix for program setup information. Program CMM both off-line (using CAD models) and on-line as necessary for project requirements. Documentation and Compliance: Review, analyze, and document test results, including processing non-conformance documentation when applicable. Complete and/or authorize formal release certification as required. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality. Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and adhere to health and safety protocols to create a safe work environment. Support other team members with additional tasks as necessary. Continuous Improvement: Design new test solutions and develop strategies to improve testing processes for future products and equipment. Contribute actively to continuous improvement efforts across the quality and inspection processes. Qualifications and Experience Essential: * GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above. * Industry-recognized engineering-based apprenticeship. * Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles. * Proficiency with standard inspection tools and equipment, including CMM. * Ability to create and adjust CMM programs from CAD models. * Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, PCB schematics, and technical specifications. * Ability to interpret test results, identify errors, and address anomalies. * Strong capability to work both independently and within a team, with an aptitude for working under pressure and meeting deadlines. Desirable: * Experience in an aerospace precision engineering environment. * Familiarity with test fixtures, sensors, and laboratory test equipment.
