Quality Fair Engineer 📍 Basildon | Manufacturing Environment We are currently recruiting a Quality Fair Engineer to join our manufacturing team at our Basildon site. within a high-quality, precision-driven manufacturing environment. Salary 💷 £18. 54 per hour Working Hours * Monday – Thursday: 7:00am to 4:00pm * Friday: 07:30am to 12:30pm Benefits Package * Competitive salary * Overtime: x 1.5 Monday to Saturday and x 2 on Sundays * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards * Christmas shutdown FAIR Inspector is responsible for ensuring that first article inspections are completed accurately and in full compliance with customer, regulatory, and aerospace quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle and supporting continuous improvement within the business. Duties and Responsibilities * Compile, review, and approve FAIRs, ensuring completeness and accuracy. * Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to obtain and verify documentations. * Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and standards. * Identify non-conformances, raise ECR, and support Quality team. * Support the integration of quality into the manufacturing process (“right first time” approach). * Work collaboratively with Production, Planning, and Quality teams to meet targets. * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Management System. Qualifications and Experience Essential: * Engineering or manufacturing background. * Proven experience performing First Article Inspections. * Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards. * Experience working in a quality control / inspection environment. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. * Proficient in dimensional inspection techniques and the use of inspection tools. * High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Desirable: * Experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment. * Experience working with quality control or FAIR submissions. * Relevant qualifications or certifications in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Manufacturing. * Strong communication and teamwork skills.
