Quality Engineer - Job Description The Business: A manufacturer and developer of flex solutions (including cell contacting systems) for EV vehicle battery modules which enable voltage and temperature control of the module. Our traditional automotive glazing products include FPC connectors, flat foil & cable connectors, and electrical busbar & wire elements. Looking for: The Quality Engineer will focus on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and provide critical support throughout project lifecycles. This role requires a deep understanding of quality management systems, APQP methodologies, and project management principles. The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects, driving continuous improvement in quality processes and product performance. Responsibilities: * Provide quality engineering support throughout the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, from project initiation to production launch. * Collaborate with design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality requirements are defined, documented, and met throughout project lifecycles. * Facilitate APQP activities such as risk assessment, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and control plan development to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks. * Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and company objectives. * Participate in cross-functional project meetings, providing input on quality-related issues and driving resolution of quality concerns. * Lead or participate in supplier quality activities, including supplier audits, corrective actions, and process improvements to ensure supplier compliance with quality standards. * Conduct process capability studies, statistical analyses, and root cause investigations to identify opportunities for quality improvement and prevent recurrence of quality issues. * Support customer interactions, including participation in quality audits, responding to customer inquiries or concerns, and ensuring timely resolution of quality-related issues. * Develop and deliver quality-related training programs to internal teams and suppliers to promote understanding and adherence to quality standards and requirements. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality processes, tools, and systems to enhance overall product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. Master’s degree or certification in quality management preferred. * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering roles, with a focus on APQP and project support within the automotive or manufacturing industry. * Strong understanding of quality management systems, APQP methodologies, and project management principles. * Experience with quality tools and techniques such as FMEA, control plans, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis. * Proficiency in quality management software and tools (e.g., APQP software, statistical analysis software). * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse complex data and drive effective solutions. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with customers and suppliers. * Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders. * Knowledge of automotive quality standards and requirements (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949) preferred. * Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of quality engineering and project management
