Are you a Resident Quality Engineer within Automotive Composites? We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer for on-site, new product introduction and quality resolution management with composite parts. The opportunity: Based in Gaydon, 3 days per week, the Resident Quality Engineer will be the main point of contact for Quality Management, at all stages, and own the day-to-day relationship with the Client. The successful candidate will work with the client during the product development phase, but also during the management of customer complaints, bringing to a prompt and efficient resolution. The Resident Quality Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to: * Non-Conformity management, from prototype and series production. * 8D management up to D3, including liaison back to manufacturing plant in Europe. * Participate in meetings on-site, for alignment on new projects. * Management of day-to-day quality concerns and issues. * Create and maintain PFMEA’s, Control Plans and PPAP documentation. * Ensuring clear and informative communications between European Composite Manufacturing Plant and the on-site engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: As the successful candidate will be the sole UK representative of the manufacturer, it is vital that they have a strong understanding of Automotive Composites processes and finishes. They must have the ability to be a self-starter and liaise with all levels of the client. Key Skills: * An organised, resilient individual with the ability to think outside the box and utilise their production and quality process knowledge to promptly resolve issues. * Ability to interrogate an online CAD system, to obtain product information. * Able to produce reports and data for all requirements, on a regular basis. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Italian language skills would be beneficial, but not essential. * Experienced in managing Automotive product processes and completing associated documents. * Experience of problem solving using Lean Manufacturing techniques such as 8D, 5Y and Root Cause Analysis. * Customer facing and relationship building awareness and confidence. * Experienced handling customers and managing expectations. The Resident Quality Engineer would ideally been Six Sigma accredited however, this is not essential. This position will require 2 weeks training in Europe, at the start of the contract, to gain a full understanding of the manufacturer’s processes and products. Job Type: Contract (3 days per week).
