A global leading engineering group supplying the aerospace, defence and technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Purchasing Manager. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to the purchasing function ensuring effective and efficient flow of goods and candidates are sought with raw material purchasing experience who have a good understanding of the aerospace sector. Commutable from: Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Alfreton, Mansfield, Sutton In Ashfield Salary: £ 50,000 - £ 65,000 p.a. + benefits. Suitable for: Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Commodity Manager, Senior Buyer. The Role Lead, direct and manage all supplier relationships. Coordinate the development of all volume purchase agreement negotiations and agreements Negotiate component and product pricing to achieve cost targets Coordinator negotiation strategies with suppliers and maintain good supplier contact at all times Maintain current knowledge of market trends and recommend changes in supply chain strategies Manage supply chain for NPI Responsible for ensuring commercial negotiations are carried out in line with Commodity Strategies. Identify cost reduction opportunities, long term agreements. Conduct longer term cost planning based on commodity strategies and external market trends. Accountable for quality performance of assigned commodities. Defining commodity strategies to meet quality, cost and delivery KPIs whilst minimizing stock/cash commitments The Candidate Experience in a Supply Chain function, a strategic thinker, you will be able to influence and implement change A strong understanding of Aerospace raw material market is key Have a proven track record in delivering results in favourable and unfavourable conditions. Experience in Supplier Relationship Management at senior level. Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to shifting demands Experience in strategic planning and industry analysis at senior level. Must be able to travel within UK and overseas as required Ability to interact with people across all disciplines and interface effectively at all levels as required MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and other software as appropriate.
