PSV Technician needed Preston Our client, a leading provider of private coach hire services, committed to delivering safe and reliable journeys for their customers, is seeking for a qualified and skilled PSV Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be in charge of inspecting and maintaining vehicles and will be given a responsibility in taking a lead role. Role: PSV Technician Hours: Day shift; flexible hours 40/45 hours a week Location: Preston Key Responsibilities: * Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of PSV vehicles, including buses and coaches. * Perform diagnostic checks to identify mechanical and electrical faults. * Carry out vehicle inspections in line with regulatory requirements. * Ensure vehicles are repaired in a timely manner, minimizing downtime. * Maintain accurate records of all work carried out. * Work with a team to ensure adherence to safety standards and guidelines. * Provide support during MOT preparation and testing. Requirements: * Must hold a valid PSV Technician Licence (category [specify category, e.g., Cat D, Cat B]). * NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification (or higher). * Proven experience in a PSV maintenance role, preferably with experience in repairing and maintaining buses or coaches. * Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic equipment. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team. * Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. * Good communication skills and ability to liaise with other departments. * Full UK driving licence (preferably). Desirable Skills: * Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles. * Additional qualifications such as City & Guilds, IRTEC, or similar.
