Temp-to-perm contract opportunity Annualised salary of up to £40k for the right person Professional development / Free parking We are recruiting a Production Planner for a leading tier-one automotive manufacturing business in the Aston area of Birmingham. As a leading provider of components for major car brands, they are seeking somebody who wants a long-term opportunity with an international footprint, with a minimum of 24 months experience in a Manufacturing Production Planning / Scheduling background. Pay rate for the Planner will be between £19 - £20.79 per hour based on demonstrable background. Hours of work: Must be able to work flexibly between AM shift (Apply online only)) and day shift (Apply online only)). Key responsibilities for the role include: To control the issue of purchase schedules and production plans aligned with manufacturing plans on prototype orders. To communicate to supplier's key information including on-time delivery performance, shutdown dates and significant Program changes. To control inbound materials from suppliers using ASNs, usage data and stock levels Maintain stock levels within KPI targets avoiding shortages and excess inventory and premium freight. Support Production Schedulers, Operations Management, and other internal customers by ensuring material availability for new projects and organizing freight as required. Work using a continuous improvement approach and develop improvements to the Scheduling, Production Planning and Supplier Delivery process. Help manage suppliers building working relationships and key measurable. Ensure balanced stock depletion when programs end, maintaining supply to completion avoiding excess obsolete stock. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency and cost reductions.Essential experience / attributes for the Planner role include:- Due to the fast-paced nature of this role, candidates must have previous, relevant Supply Chain experience ideally in a Tier 1 automotive environment. Ability to work under pressure within a team environment. Comprehensive IT skills essential including spreadsheets, E-mail, and SAP. Ability to communicate to all levels in both this and supplier organizations.
