Principal FGPA Engineer - Chelmsford – Onsite  Always working at the cutting-edge of technology, our client has an enviable reputation as a world leader, developing products for the scientific and satellite / space industries We are seeking a Principal FPGA Engineer to drive the development of FPGA code used in next-generation front end electronics products.  Role: Develop FPGA code for electronic products Work in a multi-disciplinary team comprising electronics, FPGA, and embedded software engineers. Acquire an intimate knowledge of current and new FPGA devices and their operation. Write FPGA code and drive new FPGA development for the next generation of Front End Electronics (FEE) products for space. Develop FPGA designs using VHDL in Microchip Libero and Xilinx Vivado environments. Provide bid and business development support in collaboration with other team members. Review and specify technical proposals to ensure project feasibility and compliance. Conduct trade-off analyses to evaluate different design options and their implications. Supply accurate estimates for effort and material costs to support project planning and budgeting.Experience required 5+ years of industrial experience in FPGA design using VHDL. Proficiency with Microchip Libero and/or Xilinx Vivado design environments. Experience in functional verification and timing analysis of FPGA designs. Strong skills in generating estimates and defining tasks for FPGA product delivery. Technical leadership and mentoring experience in FPGA development. Experience in authoring comprehensive technical documentation. Familiarity with electronic test equipment.
