Belmont Recruitment are looking for a Plant Mechanic to join Tameside Council's Vehicle Engineering Team on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract based in Stalybridge. Key Duties: To carry out repairs and maintenance of all classes of vehicles, plant and equipment owned or operated by the Authority, whilst ensuring compliance with operator licensing requirements and any other legislation to which the vehicle, plant or equipment is subject to. Day to day: * Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to authority vehicles equipment and plant. * Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose faults. * Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and resolving defects. * Road testing vehicles to check repairs. * Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed to the required standard. * Completing all documentation to the required standard. Essential skills: (1 or more of the below) * A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3. * Irtec qualification. * Agricultural machinery qualification. * Plant equipment qualification. Essential criteria: * The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or part of a team. * Strong communication skills. * Good attention to detail. * The ability to carry out work to high standards. * A proactive and enthusiastic approach. * The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions. * A full driving licence.
