Paint Shop/Production Manager Solihull, Specialist low volume manufacturing Salary circa £50,000 ,25 days holiday, pension, Bonus, Bupa and Share purchase scheme after qualifying period. We have been asked to support an established manufacturing company with a globally recognised brand for the design, manufacture and supply of commercial vehicle tankers and jetting equipment, The recruitment is for a Paint Shop Production Manager, this is an exceptionally exciting time for the business as the invest and develop new markets. You will be expected to Coach, mentor, and develop Paint Shop leadership and team members to achieve world class standards. You will lead the Paint Shop improvement of S, Q, C, D & M through process improvement and continuous development of team members.  Lead operations initiatives in line with vision and objectives. Promote Lean methodologies and champion development and execution of lean roadmap within your area of responsibility. Main duties and responsibilities: Coach, mentor & develop Paint Shop leadership team Lead organisational capability improvement of Paint Shop team members Lead HSE roadmap development and execution to achieve an annualised 25% improvement of HSE metrics and support our vision of “Zero Harm” Lead right first-time quality initiative and actions to achieve an annualised 25% reduction of both internal and external Quality issues Lead continuous improvement of the Production System, driving towards world class standards Lead elimination/reduction of Takt Time variation with a continuous drive for waste elimination Lead continuous improvement of Leadership team standard work. Conduct regular audits for improvement opportunities and process verification. Lead initiatives to deliver departmental OTD, WIP, Cost Down objectives Lead TM engagement, regular TM communications and other activities to drive culture change and improve team morale Lead and effectively execute company policies and procedures Lead projects and/or improvement events Promote Lean methodologies Lead daily kaizen activities Promote Whale values and behaviours Develop annual budgets and monitor Vs actual spend Set both Team and TM objectives in line with company Vision/Objectives and manage performance Develop and monitor efficiency rates (Hours per Machine) for all areas of responsibility Education and Training Manufacturing degree or equivalent HNC or equivalent Experience People and manufacturing management experience desirable ideally within a paint plant/shop environment Paint Shop leadership Shot blast knowledge Assembly leadership                      Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment is essential. An understanding of Lean manufacturing systems. Mentoring & coaching of Supervisors and team members.
