Operational Supervisor – TCR The Opportunity We are looking for an Operational Supervisor to oversee staff and daily operations within the workshop and airside. In this role, you will ensure efficient operations, uphold safety standards, and deliver high-quality customer service while managing productivity, resources, and staff performance. Strong leadership and organisational skills are essential for maintaining operational excellence. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for managing workshop staff and space, ensuring productivity and chargeable hours are maximised. Job allocation to technicians will be handled through the SAP application, and you will oversee all aspects of workplace safety, ensuring compliance with safe working practices for staff, visitors, and subcontractors. ISO procedures must be followed, with workshop excellence reports completed regularly. Tooling and equipment will be maintained, including calibration and registration records. You will prepare customer quotes based on Service Level Agreements (SLAs), conduct yard checks, and update job statuses on the whiteboard. Ordering and allocating parts efficiently will be key, along with completing and sending daily status reports to customers. Investigating accidents, incidents, or near-misses and reporting findings will also form part of your duties. Additionally, you will oversee job updates, ensuring quality checks are completed and signed off, while equipment checks for forklift trucks, ladders, and other tools are carried out. You will prepare detailed handovers for the next shift, ensuring all paperwork is correct and up to date. Underperforming staff will be reported to the Operations Manager, and you will support performance reviews, investigations, and disciplinary actions. Other reasonable duties may be assigned as required. What We Are Looking For We require supervisory experience in a customer-focused, operational environment. Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills are necessary, along with a good understanding of workshop procedures, motor mechanics, and vehicle maintenance. A knowledge of health and safety regulations is essential, as is a customer-oriented mindset with a strong focus on service delivery. The ability to assess and resolve problems quickly, along with a flexible and team-oriented approach, will be highly valued. A Level 3 Motor Mechanics qualification is required, while an HGV qualification is desirable.
