NDT Technician – Radiographic Testing (RT Level 2) Location: Manchester Contract Type: Permanent Industry: High-Precision Manufacturing Salary: circa £50k + Benefits Hours: Days-based, Monday to Friday We’re representing a long-standing engineering firm in Manchester that supplies into defence and other regulated sectors. They’re on the lookout for an experienced NDT Technician, qualified to PCN Level 2 in Radiographic Testing (RT), to join their quality team on a permanent basis. The Role: You’ll carry out RT, VT, MT and PT inspections on fabricated components, ensuring they meet exacting quality standards. The work is varied and highly detailed, covering all stages of production – from setup and calibration of test equipment through to non-conformance reporting and supporting root cause investigations. You’ll be responsible for: * Performing non-destructive tests including RT, VT, MT, and PT. * Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. * Documenting results, raising NCRs, and proposing corrective actions. * Ensuring compliance with internal processes and record-keeping. * Supporting quality improvement initiatives on the shop floor. What we’re looking for: * PCN Level 2 in Radiographic Testing (essential). * Additional certifications in VT, MT, or PT (desirable). * Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (Aerospace, MOD, Oil & Gas, Nuclear etc). * Confident with inspection instruments and quality tools. * Strong attention to detail and communication skills. * UK driving licence and valid passport.
