We are currently looking for a mobile maintenance/repair auto electrician or a candidate with good knowledge of onboard DC power systems to join a highly skilled and knowledgeable team within an award winning Commercial Vehicle maintenance company. This full time, permanent position is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the automotive industry to come and work for one of the biggest mobile maintenance companies in the UK. The successful candidate will be set up for a long-term career path with our client. You will be given your own company vehicle and tooling to attend planned inspections and repairs. Applicants must have experience with auto electrics to some degree. You will be provided you with 'on the job' training to ensure you can work autonomously and produce the highest standard of work. Our client are keen to meet candidates who can work as part of a team but are also comfortable working independently and safely with minimal supervision. Duties and responsibilities: * Deliver quality work in good timescales, working to safety guidelines and estimated quoted timescales. * Carry out fault diagnosis, routine inspections, and repairs on welfare vehicles maintenance vans and auxiliary equipment fitted to commercial vehicles. * Inspect equipment to meet the specified standards and ensure durability. * Ensure the surrounding work area is a safe environment for themselves and others, who may be in proximity, and to continually monitor the conditions as each job evolves. * Comply with the company's health and safety rules and regulations and ensure the correct PPE is worn/used throughout * Maintain a clean and tidy work area and ensure all tooling and specialist equipment is tested and compliant in line with company policy. * Adhere to health and safety standards and policies. * Be on time to planned work and carry a professional attitude while on site. The successful candidate will have the following key skills/experience: * I.T a literature * Experience/ knowledge of DC and some AC components found in service vehicles. IE beacons, inverters, split chargers. * Ability to work under minimal supervision and to meet deadlines. * PAT certified, but training can be given. * Understanding blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications * Good self-starter with the ability to multi-task * Ability to work well as part of a team and under your own initiative, when required. * Knowledge of the latest industry safety practices * Confident in communication with customers facing situations. * Committed to high levels of quality work output.
