Impact Recruitment are activiely seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Technician for LGVs or HGVs to join a team based in Northampton. As a Mobile Technician you will be responsible for performing maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs at various customer sites, ensuring that vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with regulations. Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience) Location: Midlands Hours: Rotational (6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm) Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests on HGVs to identify faults and mechanical issues. Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal vehicle performance and longevity. Perform repairs and replacements of defective components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals. Complete accurate and detailed service reports, including parts used, labour hours, and work performed. Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair recommendations, obtain approvals, and provide updates on service progress. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and company procedures at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mobile service vehicle and equipment.Requirements: Proven experience as an HGV technician or diesel mechanic, preferably in a mobile servicing role. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in HGV or LGV maintenance. Valid Class 1 or 2 licences. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to efficiently identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic software. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Flexible approach to work, with the ability to work independently and travel to customer sites as required. Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
