Our client is looking for a determined and engaged individual to join their team as a Mobile Mechanic. Required Skills: * The job holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence * Experience as a Mobile Mechanic * Must have a recognised Mobile Mechanic qualification i.e., Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or Diploma in Vehicle Technology or similar * Knowledge of tyres including use of tyre machine and balancer would be advantageous * Experience with light commercial vehicles is advantageous * Good administrative skills * Good knowledge of Health & Safety act 1974 * The job holder must possess good safety and time‐management skills and be experienced in delivering excellent customer service * The job holder must be skilled at independently problem‐solving and analysing information to reach effective solutions, with a persistent and dependable attitude Key Responsibilities: * Attending all DGV depots and customer sites to carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs while determining the tools and equipment needed to complete request * Supporting all sites with maintenance of the condition of the fleet to the highest standard, considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate course of actions * Protecting all Company vehicle/equipment provided by keeping it clean, serviced and reporting any defects that may develop * Diagnosing faults or malfunctions of fleet, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerised test equipment and calibration devices * Maintaining functional vehicle condition by actioning job allocation requests, conducting inspections, and carrying out repairs. * Complying with Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 * Operating vehicles or equipment in a safe and compliant manner * Keeping up‐to‐date technically and applying new knowledge to the job. * Identifying information by categorising, estimating, recognising differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events with geographical knowledge being aware of any logistical changes * Communicating effectively with supervisors and co‐workers and representing the organisation to customers, the public, government, and other external sources in a positive light * Maintaining vehicles’ appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting (including personal vehicle) * Maintaining vehicle records by recording services and repairs * Containing costs by using warranties, evaluating service and parts options.
