Metallurgist Birmingham £50,000   We have a fantastic new opportunity for a leading global manufacturer with over 70 years of experience in the aerospace, medical and industrial sectors. As a Metallurgist you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of the products. While working in a state-of-the-art facility you will be responsible for conducting research, analysis and testing of metal structures.   Responsibilities: You will work closely with Lab environment and will be equally comfortable overseeing desk-based activity as you would be working and being a presence on the shopfloor. Technical lead on all product manufactured at the specific site. Accountable for the set-up of process routes to ensure the product conforms to all customer requirements. Monitoring and improvement activities around these routings essential. Liaise and communicate across a number of areas of the business including Operations, Manufacturing, Technical Teams, Lab environments (internally) as well as working with customers externally. You will work closely with Quality to oversee any non-conformances or any issues that will be metallurgical in nature. Influence and improve Metallurgical processes.  Person specification: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment (ideally forging; not but essential) Strong Metallurgical background (ideally a degree-based qualification) Experienced in Process Improvement and engagement with a shopfloor. Thorough understanding of external and internal customer quality standards. Good communicator across the board internally and externally.  Package: Salary - £55,000 26 days + Bank hols Private Medical and Dental Pension matched up to 8% Quarterly cash bonus – non contractual (Based on company performance)
