This full-time Mechanical Technician role is based in Bedfordshire and offers an attractive salary and excellent benefits. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to the facility, including installation and modification. Typical projects for the organisation include producing scaled-down military and civilian aircraft models, comprising multiple parts, which are assembled together and used to measure highly accurate forces and pressures on the model when placed within the on-site high-speed wind tunnel. You will be enabling research into the next generation of aircraft!  In your first few weeks in this Mechanical Technician role, you can expect to: Carry out inspections, maintenance and repairs of the equipment involved with wind tunnel testing and the associated mechanical services (planned maintenance) Be responsible for the repair of plant and equipment during breakdown, including fault-finding in accordance with supervisory instructions (reactive maintenance) Manage plant, equipment and infrastructure, including rotating/reciprocating components (gears, chains, linkages and actuating rods).  To apply for this Mechanical Technician role, you will need a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or significant experience installing, maintaining, repairing and inspecting industrial plant equipment and systems, such as: High Pressure compressed air systems Water cooling and treatment systems Plant lubrication and hydraulic systems Mechanical machinery and infrastructure, including rotating/reciprocating components (gears, chains, linkages and actuating rods).
