They’re now looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their inspection team at their facility near Uxbridge. This is a hands-on inspection role where you’ll carry out product verification of precision components, ensuring they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance and efficiency across the production schedule, supporting both manufacturing and quality operations. Mechanical Inspector Responsibilities * Carry out inspection and testing of components using a range of measurement tools and techniques. * Verify products against engineering drawings and technical documentation. * Generate and maintain accurate inspection documentation. * Use SAP to record work in progress, track batches, and log non-conformances. * Ensure all inspection equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained. * Contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across the department. * Handle and store components carefully to prevent damage and ensure traceability. * Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and quality standards. Mechanical Inspector Profile * Previous mechanical inspection experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. * Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. * Skilled in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges). * Strong numeracy, geometry, and attention-to-detail skills. * Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures. * Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office and SAP). * Experience with CMMs, GD&T, or AS9102 FAIRs would be advantageous. * GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English; an engineering apprenticeship is preferred.
