About this position: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to work for a world leading automotive company who specialise in advanced protection systems for vehicles. Job Responsibilities: The role requires the individual to have broad automotive experience that can be applied to mechanical and electrical systems, body, trim, and particularly bespoke installations fitted to in service military vehicles and survivability systems. The predominant focus is likely to be on systems and installations rather than engine and drive train, however all round in-depth automotive knowledge is required in order to be effective in this role. * Supply technical knowledge to a range of products. * Hands on assembly of electro/mechanical assemblies including any of the following: * Assembly of mechanical and electrical components * Inspection * Working with various mechanical equipment * Working with various chemicals * Reading schematic drawings * Engage in generic tasks e.g. driving company vehicles and minor facility activities. * Support continuous improvement initiatives to include lean manufacturing principles. * Assist the Workshop Manager on performance (KPI’s). * Contribute towards assisting in building a motivated team to increase morale. Experience Required: * Minimum 5 years' low production manufacturing techniques and processes. * Bespoke manufacture of automotive platforms
