Our client is currently recruiting for a permanent Mechanical engineer. The company are in the automotive sector and are based in the Midlands. Our client specialises in the engineering and development of electrified propulsion, driveline and automation systems for customers all over the world. Our client is currently undertaking fascinating projects in the automotive, aerospace and defence industries and also diversifying into new areas. The company offers a refreshing working culture with a 4½ day standard working week and a team focused environment. Engineers are the priority, development of their technical skills and business experience is the working goal. To thrive at our client, you will be a self-motivated, innovative multi-skilled engineer, adept at solving complex problems with a positive approach. You will have a background of design and analysis of precision rotating components and systems, where you have shown high levels of initiative and attention to detail whilst working to tight deadlines. As an Engineer you will apply and develop your technical knowledge, immediately contributing to the successful delivery of interesting and challenging projects for a wide variety of customers, markets and sectors. You may also be responsible for successfully delivering your own small projects, generating and maintaining relationships with customers at an appropriate level. You will have: • Degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related discipline to 2:1 or above OR equivalent demonstrable experience • Experience of automotive, transmission or precision engineering design or analysis • An aptitude for solving engineering problems, and experience in finding supporting resources • Exposure to some of the key software packages within drivetrain engineering (SMT MASTA, Romax, Creo, UGNX, Catia) • Able to follow key engineering processes and procedures • High level of numeracy, an ability to apply analytical approaches and strong problem solving skills • Able to quickly understand complex technical concepts • Strong written and verbal communication skills Additional: • The command of a foreign language is always a benefit in a company with global reach, particularly, French, German, Korean • Awareness of the commercial approach of a consultancy business will be advantageous General Responsibities: - Taking responsibility for your own continual development • Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, stakeholders and contributing to the team ethic at work • Acting as a role model for company values and professional standards • Developing your personal reputation with your peers and within customers and suppliers as an ambassador of the company • Communicating actively and effectively internally and externally • Exhibiting a passion for learning and facing new challenges • Adapting to the needs of a growing and developing business • Willing to undertake short and long haul-travel on behalf of the company • Being fully aware of and actively complying with company policies and procedures If you are interested in the role please call Luke @ Skala (phone number removed) or apply online with your up to date CV
