Mechanical Assembly Technician Location: Peterborough Job Type: Long term temporary - Potential to go permanent Hours: Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 4pm Salary: Up to £30,000/ year, paid weekly Job Description We are currently seeking an experienced and hard-working Mechanical Assembly Technician to join one of the biggest and most recognised names in the Waste Water and Waste Management industry. As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, the main purpose of your role will be to have responsbility for the on-going maintenance of a large ion-exchange water treatment plant, as well as the company's fleet of mobile water treatment units. You will work on the refurbishment and fabricaton of company parts and specific equipment, following general EHS standards at all times and maintaining the integrity of work rules and processes. As part of your role, you will also carry out general facility maintenance tasks, instrument calibration and validation, regular 5S housekeeping and, LEAN/KAIZEN activities on the shop floor. Essential experience/ qualifications: Previous Mechanical Assembly experience Experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings Basic assembly with MIG and/or TIG welding (Plastic welding experience would also be highly beneficial) Experience working within an industrial setting/ assembly environment Strong EHS and Quality compliance awareness Strong communication and interpersonal skills Beneficial Qualifications: Plastic welding This is a long term temporary position, with the potential to develop into a permanent role with a top rated employer.
