JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION Mechanic, Belfast PLACEMENT WITHIN ORGANISATION Ports & Terminals REPORTS TO Primary - Workshop, Team Leader JOB PURPOSE Repair, maintain, and inspect Port Equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES Maintenance of all mobile port equipment including tug-masters, forklifts, and all other Company vehicles. Performance of regular servicing as specified by the manufacturers and the keeping of comprehensive records of such services. Attend breakdowns of port equipment both during normal working hours and outside working hours both in the terminal and onboard vessels. Perform remedial work on customer's trailers in the event that they become faulty during sea transit or have been damaged during port movement to enable the customer to remove the unit from the terminal area. Carry out general maintenance at the terminal, which is within your capabilities and expertise. Keep individual maintenance records on mobile port equipment such that performance/cost analyses can be carried out. Ensure that safe working practices are adopted during all maintenance operations and adhere to all terminal health and safety regulations. Comply with fire precautions and procedures. Ensure that any quality system operated by the Company in your area of responsibility is adhered to. Respond to requests for assistance in 'clean up' operations when fluids have leaked from vehicles operating on Company vessels. You will be required to be flexible in this position and must be prepared to undertake such other work as may be assigned to you by the Company from time to time.
