We’re currently working with a large, forward-thinking public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy and well-equipped workshop environment based across depots in Nottingham. The Role As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be part of a skilled workshop team delivering a comprehensive programme of vehicle maintenance, inspection, repair and testing. The workshop supports a varied fleet as well as external customers, including taxi testing. You’ll be responsible for: * Carrying out servicing, repairs, inspections and examinations on light vehicles * Ensuring all work meets statutory legislation, DVSA standards and operator licence requirements * Working to strict deadlines while maintaining a consistently high standard of workmanship * Supporting the ongoing development of a growing commercial and electric vehicle fleet This role also offers exposure to electric vehicle servicing and repair, providing a great opportunity to expand your skills and training portfolio in an evolving area of the industry. Working Hours * Monday to Friday * Rotating shift pattern: * 07:00 – 15:00 * 09:00 – 17:00 About You To be considered, you’ll ideally have: * City & Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) * MOT Tester qualification - Prefered but not essential * Full UK driving licence (Category B) * Proven experience across all aspects of light vehicle maintenance and repair * The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines What’s on Offer * Competitive salary with progression * Permanent, stable employment * Excellent holiday allowance and pension scheme * Modern workshop facilities * Opportunities for training and development, including EV technology Salary starting at £36,363 on a 37.5 hour week plus £1000 tooling allowance.
