Position Overview: As a Prep Technician, your primary responsibility will be to prepare our stock vehicles, ensuring they are prepared to the highest standards. We value quality workmanship and attention to detail, and we prioritise a clean working environment. The successful candidate will have expertise in fault finding with diagnostics, including electrical systems, and possess either an IMI Level 3 qualification or equivalent or demonstrate five years of time served as a mechanic. Key Responsibilities: 1. Vehicle Preparation: Execute a comprehensive 126-point mechanical check on arrival, ensuring all cars meet our rigorous standards. 2. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in fault finding using diagnostics, including electrical systems. 3. Hybrid Qualifications: Nice to have 4. Mechanical Checks: Perform mechanical repairs and fitting of parts, prioritising repairs over replacements. 5. Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of workmanship, working independently and efficiently in a workshop environment. 6. Customer Returns: Address customer returns with a commitment to resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction. Qualifications and Skills: * IMI Level 2 or 3 qualifications OR five years' time served as a mechanic. * Ability to fault-find using diagnostics, including electrical systems. * MOT license is a benefit, with the opportunity to undertake an MOT course after probation. * Hybrid qualifications at Level 2 or above, with expertise in high-voltage systems. * Ability to work unsupervised, with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality. Working Hours and Compensation: * Basic Salary: £38,000 * Bonus: Team bonus of £300 per month for achieving 100 cars on display. * Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with one Saturday per month (8 am to 5 pm). * Additional Saturdays are paid at time and a half, pre-agreed with the Workshop Controller.
