Our client, a Tier 1 supplier to global OEMs, specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality interior components for the automotive sector. Due to continued growth and upcoming vehicle programme launches, they are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their operations team. This is a hands-on role requiring strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and CAD, with a clear understanding of the Tier 1/OEM automotive environment. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the implementation of new manufacturing processes for interior trim components. * Support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities ensuring process readiness for SOP (Start of Production). * Develop and maintain process documentation including PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions and layout planning. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, cost, and delivery KPIs using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. * Use CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks) to support tooling design, fixture layout and line balancing. * Liaise with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production to resolve process and design issues. * Evaluate and implement automation or semi-automation opportunities to improve productivity. * Ensure compliance with TS16949 / IATF 16949 and other relevant automotive standards. * Provide technical support and training to production teams. * Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action plans for internal or customer-reported issues. Essential Requirements: * Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent). * Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a Tier 1 supplier or OEM, ideally in interior components or trim. * Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes – plastics, assemblies, adhesives, fixtures, jigs, etc. * Proficient in CAD software for tooling layouts and process planning. * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and CI tools (Kaizen, 5S, VSM). * Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
