Boasting annual sales of over £30m, they are at the forefront of excellent manufacturing processes and driven by strategic growth, both organic and through acquisition. Well established and identified as a market leader in their field, this company sets the standard by employee satisfaction, excellent customer service and providing a product that is unrivalled by their competition. Aside from this, the group is driven by sustainability and improvement projects significantly reducing their carbon footprint and energy consumption. As a result of a restructuring within the business, this company is looking to recruit a strategic but hands-on Manufacturing Director to lead all plant activities whilst working closely with the Board of Directors on strategic growth plans. For further information on this confidential assignment, please email an up-to-date CV and contact number to Key Accountabilities: Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead all manufacturing and plant-based activities including full P&L control for the site Manage, lead, guide and mentor the senior leadership team of up to 5 direct reports and a total of 250 staff on-site Lead projects related to employee engagement, succession planning and futureproofing the organisation To work closely with HR, finance and operations to drive efficiency and operational improvements Day-to-day management of the manufacturing function of the business and to drive continuous improvement by working to become a World Class Manufacturing site Manage day-to-day activities around technical changes, material, engineering, flow and continuous improvement Day-to-day management and the performance of the plant and technical improvements via regular team engagement Manage the business against operational KPIs and ensure they are met and exceeded - SQDCP Budget planning and setting targets and KPIs with your team and subsequently, their teams Actively engaged in team-based practical problem-solving issues and supporting the team related to quality, material, machine downtime, finance, HR etc. and ensuring corrective actions are executed Budget management – Managing labour and materials for the factory Requirements: An operations-type background either as a Manufacturing Director, Operations Director, Production Director, Plant Director, Factory Director, General Manager, Head of or a related background Experienced in working in a volume manufacturing environment producing technical products A suitable qualification - BSc/BA in business administration, engineering, science, or relevant field; MSc/MA is preferred A hands-on and strategic individual with a history in leadership management, employee engagement and change management An expert and track record in executing lean and continuous improvement projects You must demonstrate P&L management expertise of a £multi-million site Collaborative, democratic and someone who can command authority You will have full autonomy to manage the department as you see fit.
