Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Location: Solihull, West Midlands, and Northamptonshire Contract: Contract and permanent roles available Shifts: Multiple shifts available, including days, double days, and rotating shifts Overview: Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity with a prestigious, high-value automotive manufacturer? We are seeking skilled, multi-disciplined individuals to join a fast-paced maintenance team, supporting cutting-edge production lines and advanced manufacturing systems. Opportunities are available in Solihull, West Midlands, and Northamptonshire, offering hands-on involvement in maintaining state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to reducing downtime and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated systems (BMS, HVAC, pneumatics, fire suppression, CNC machines, dynos, conveyors, welding equipment, etc.). Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on various machinery, providing quick and effective responses to minimise production disruption. Undertake routine inspections and repairs of specialist equipment, including autoclaves, CNC machines, and robotic systems. Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring faults, enhancing asset performance and reliability. Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical support to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Offer technical guidance and training to junior technicians and colleagues. Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities, using lean manufacturing techniques such as TPM and 5S to enhance operational efficiency. What We're Looking For: A recognised, time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering maintenance or a related field. Proven experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance planning, and implementation within an industrial environment. Familiarity with automated systems, robotics, and control systems such as Allen-Bradley PLCs (desirable). Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including the ability to read technical drawings and manuals. Able to work effectively under pressure, manage breakdowns, and restore equipment as quickly as possible. A team player with a collaborative, flexible attitude and willingness to cover out-of-hours shifts or race weekends (on a rota basis).
