Collett & Sons Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a LGV Mechanic to join the team. Location: Halifax, UK (with flexibility and mobility required) Salary: £22.50 per hour Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 6am to 6pm shifts (with one hour breaks), 4 on and 4 off rolling shift pattern* *overtime working is required by the demands of the business About Us: Collett & Sons Ltd is a successful family owned Company, established since 1928. The 4 Divisions are integrated between each other which allow a ‘One stop shop’ service. The Company specialise in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Engineering, Renewables and Civil & Infrastructure markets, transporting and moving difficult loads UK & Worldwide. They operate from their 5-acre site in Halifax, 10-acre site in Goole & 6-acre site in Grangemouth. LGV Mechanic – The Role & Key Responsibilities: The appointment will enjoy a varied work load and will have opportunity to help grow and develop their own skills within the Company in the various divisions of the company, contributing to the Company’s development and their own prospects for promotion. - Inspect and repair vehicles, trailers and plant - MOT preparation of vehicles and trailers - Diagnose and rectify all types of faults - Service and repair vehicles or components using appropriate equipment and tools - Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required - Welding and fabrication of components in the scope of vehicle repair - Any other reasonable duties as workload requires LGV Mechanic – You: Qualifications & Experience: - Full UK car license - City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician - HGV service and repair experience - The ability to organise work on own initiative and work under pressure - Experience working with trailers, hydraulic systems and electrical systems - Experience of Diagnostic computers - Having a C+E (class 1) Licence would be preferred but not essential Personal Qualities: - Self-motivated and an effective team player - Positive approach to management of change - Effective communicator at all levels - Good time keeping skills LGV Mechanic – Benefits (subject to conditions): - 20 days Holiday per year including Bank Holiday - Company contributions to the Company pension scheme is offered subject to conditions - Overnight subsistence costs are paid when away from base To submit your CV for this exciting LGV Mechanic opportunity, please click ‘Apply’ now
