HGV Technician Vacancy Location: Hull Split Shift: Monday to Friday, earlies and lates 45 hours per week, Permanent position I’m currently working with and on behalf of my client to secure qualified, highly skilled and motivated HGV Technicians for their workshop in the Hull area. The company are franchise main dealer that have been in operation for over 50 years and pride themselves on delivering the very best customer service to all their customers. They are well respected not only in the local area but also across the UK and offer a wide range of maintenance solutions for many makes and models up to 44tonne. The role: Day shift Monday to Friday * 45 hours per week. Hourly rate in the region of £16.50p/h * 06:00 – 15:30 and 13:00 – 22:30 * Overtime available * Standby and call out fees additional to these rates. We are looking for qualified and time served HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics. You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained however is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first-class service. You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet. You could be working on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV’s) road tankers, gritters, RCV’s Refuge vehicles, Diesel and EV vehicles. The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to) * Routine (and preventative) maintenance * MOT preparation * Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards * 6 (or 8) weekly inspections * Correction of running defects * Chassis and fabrication work * Hydraulics and pneumatics * Improvement of vehicle standards * Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections Requirements: Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent. Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence. So, what are you waiting for.
