Job Title: HGV Technician Location: Hamble-le-Rice, Southampton, SO31 4NR Salary: Basic salary £41,600 + individual efficiency based bonus – OTE £47,600 + Overtime Full Time and Permanent – 40 Hours a week – working alternate day / late shifts: Shifts will alternate between 6.00 am-2.30 pm and 1.30 pm-10.00 pm Our client is an Automotive retailer representing prestigious Car and Van Brands, they have a total of 30 businesses providing sales, service, and accident repair services across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, and Wiltshire. Established since 1931, they are a successful and progressive third-generation family-owned business. They are now actively looking to recruit for a HGV Technician for their Truck and Van dealership in Hamble-le-Rice. Key Responsibilities: * Through the use of diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and rectified. Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required. * Ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them. * Carry out diagnosis, repairs and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification. * Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others. * Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified. * Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out. Liaise with Service Advisor. * Complete relevant service documentation (job sheets, PDI’s, service reports) in line with brand standards, warranty and site requirements. * Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are maintained at all times including the use of special and personal tools. The experience you will need Essential: * Experience working on HGV trucks and vans. * Full and valid driving licence * Level 3 qualified within HGV Mechanics. Please note our client is happy to put candidates through their HGV driving test if you do not have an HGV driving licence.
