HGV Technician – Mitcham, South London 🚛 💰 Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per year 📍 Location: Mitcham, South London 🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:30pm 📄 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent ⏰ Overtime Available Our client is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their modern in-house workshop, maintaining a mixed fleet of HGVs and trailers. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a standalone role, taking ownership of the servicing, maintenance and repair of the fleet, while receiving support from external contractors for specialist and overflow work. Offering a highly competitive salary, excellent benefits and genuine training opportunities, this is a fantastic long-term opportunity. 🔧 Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain and repair HGVs and trailers * Carry out PMIs and safety inspections * Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults * Prepare vehicles for MOT and complete preventative maintenance * Ensure compliance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements * Maintain accurate workshop records * Promote high workshop health and safety standards * Liaise with the transport department regarding parts and outsourced work 🔧 Requirements * Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or LGV Technician * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills * NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, IMI or equivalent qualification * Good understanding of DVSA regulations * Ability to work independently * Gas Certificate * HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence desirable but not essential 🔧 Benefits * £60,000 - £70,000 per year (depending on experience) * Monday to Friday working pattern * Optional overtime and Saturday work * Tools and equipment provided * Ongoing manufacturer and specialist training, including TIG aluminium welding and CNG systems * Pension scheme * Death in service cover * 20 days holiday plus bank holidays * Rising to 25 days annual leave after one year's service Please note: Unfortunately, this role does not offer visa sponsorship and is not open to international applicants who require sponsorship to work in the UK.
