Are you an enthusiastic, apprentice-trained commercial vehicle mechanic or technician looking for a new challenge? My client, the top Volvo Truck and Bus dealership in the South West, are now hiring for an HGV Technician to join their Volvo Truck and Bus dealership, covering Devon and Cornwall. You'll be undertaking a wide range of maintenance work on various truck and bus brands, ranging from simple part replacements to solving complex faults using the latest diagnostic methods and equipment. This is a permanent full time role working a 40 hour week paying from £37,400 to £39,500 dependent on experience, plus overtime when available (paid at time and a half). Key Responsibilities * Maintain vehicles to MOT standard, ensuring all required repairs are carried out efficiently and on time. * Working across Devon and Cornwall, you will maintain and repair Volvo vehicles and other brands. * Take part in Volvo Action Service callout cover on a rota basis. * Provide fault diagnosis to identify any repairs needed. * Ensuring your workspace, equipment and toolsare kept clean, tidy and to health and safety standards. Key Skills * Minimum City and Guilds and/or NVQ 3 qualification (or equivalent). * Fault finding and problem solving. * Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. * Willingness to work effectively within a team and ensure industry leading customer service. * Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues. * Flexible ‘can do’ attitude. * Ability to use own initiative and work under minimum supervision. * Full UK Driving Licence.
