Our client, a prominent player in the automotive industry, is currently seeking a Permanent HGV Technician to join their Team in Surrey. This position offers an on-site role with a robust career development plan, including the opportunity to obtain an HGV Licence while working. Key Responsibilities: Ensure first-time repair of vehicles and equipment within budget Perform routine inspection, diagnosis, maintenance and repairs of all types of vehicle, trailer and plant equipment Undertake all work to a minimum of MOT standard as detailed in MOT Testers Manual/s or vehicle manufacturer publications and manuals Accurately use and interpret outputs from vehicle diagnostic equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines, perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair Complete and return all documentation, work orders, and service sheets for approval and filing Adhere to company procedures regarding Health & Safety and ensure all team members do likewise Comply with current legislation and certification for tooling and equipment Maintain a tidy bench and working area Stay updated on competency for effective vehicle repairs Address non-conformances identified during QA audits Work safely both individually and in a team Job Requirements: Experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HGVs Valid HGV Class 2 and HGV Class 1 Licenses are preferable but not required Trained to City and Guilds, IRTEC or NVQ level in inspection and repair of heavy vehicles and equipment (desirable) Good communication skills but capable of working alone Understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment COSHH Awareness Good standard of Maths and English to GCSE pass rate Benefits: Exceptional development and progression plans Grow your skills with access to training and certifications, including the opportunity to obtain an HGV licence Enjoy a supportive work environment that values work-life balance and offers flexible working options Generous Pension scheme 24 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Our flexible benefits scheme includes buying additional annual leave, cycle2work scheme, charity giving and gym membership Access to thousands of discounts from leading retailers, healthcare, free GP service, dental vouchers 2 Community Involvement Days each year to volunteer for a charity of your choice £1000 bonus after 6 months + another £1000 bonus after 12 Months
