We are looking for someone to join our client's dedicated Vehicle & Plant Maintenance Team 🔧 About the Role As an HGV Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing their diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment to the highest standards. You'll work in a busy, supportive workshop environment, with hours condensed over four days (7:00am - 4:45pm), and overtime opportunities available. 🛠️ What You'll Be Doing Servicing and repairing vehicles and plant equipment as directed by the Workshop Manager Ensuring compliance with DVSA standards Diagnosing faults and repairing specialist equipment Attending roadside breakdowns and arranging recovery when needed Completing all paperwork accurately and efficiently Ordering parts and equipment from suppliers Adhering to Health & Safety regulations Supporting colleagues and apprentices with guidance and training 👤 Who We're Looking For Level 3 qualification in HGV vehicle repair or equivalent experience Experience with municipal vehicles and equipment Skilled in fabrication, welding, and cutting techniques Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Strong understanding of RCV operation Flexible, positive attitude and team-oriented approach Experience with PMIs and MOT preparation Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (essential) MIG Welding Level 2 (desirable) ✅ Additional Requirements Successful applicants will undergo a DBS check (paid for by the Council) 🎁 Benefits 25 days annual leave + bank holidays Local Government Pension Scheme Healthcare Cash Plan Cashback savings on popular brands Volunteering days Free on-site parking Flexible working arrangements available 📣 Apply Now We encourage early applications as we may close the vacancy before the deadline.
