We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic to join our workshop team. Job Description: Role Overview: As a Workshop-Based HGV Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a mixed fleet of HGVs. This role requires a highly skilled technician who can work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering top-quality service. Key Responsibilities: Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of HGVs to identify and diagnose faults or issues. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of HGVs, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Tail Lift Experience: Repair and maintain tail lifts, ensuring they are compliant with safety standards (ideal but not essential). Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including parts used and labor time. Compliance: Ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on repairs and maintenance as needed.Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, preferably with a mixed fleet. Education: Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent is essential. Licenses: Class 1 driving license is ideal but not essential. Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic and repair skills, with experience working on a variety of HGV brands. Tail Lift Experience: Experience with tail lift maintenance and repair is ideal. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
