Job Title: HGV Mechanic  Hours: Monday to Friday between 7.30am - 4.00pm 1 - week late shift every 3rd week 1:30 - 10.00pm (20% shift allowance claimed for this shift)  Location: Durham Salary: £39,179 (£17.75ph including shift allowance) Without Class 1 £37,709 (£17.04 including shift allowance) Overtime paid at 1.5 OTE: £45,000 About your new company A well-established commercial vehicle repair centre with depots across the UK, they have a diverse fleet of vans, trailers, excavators and 44 tonne tankers with over 5,000 vehicles in their fleet. About your new HGV Mechanic role You will carry out maintenance, repairs and modification work on the fleet of vehicles and trailers and provide technical support from fault analysis through to pre-MOT prep and full vehicle overhauls. You will provide technical work to the highest standards in line with strict health and safety requirements for equipment, machines and tools. You will have an in-depth knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant and equipment.The successful HGV Mechanic will require Hold an HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but no essential) The successful HGV Mechanic must be a fully skilled with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair.
