As part of this growth, we are now actively seeking an experienced Head of Quality on a permanent basis – someone who can lead the effective management of quality with a focus on customer satisfaction. Your duties and responsibilities will be: Develop and maintain systems and procedures for effective management of Environmental and Health & Safety across the site. Ensure that the Midlands facility continually scores highly on customer assessments with respect to delivered quality. Provide and apply appropriate Quality systems and root cause analysis to react to quality concerns in a manner that results in an enhanced reputation with the customer. Assist, guide and, if necessary direct site personnel on safe working practices including operational, machine and equipment safety. Develop and maintain systems, procedures and programmes for the effective management of H&S on site, ensuring compliance with H&S legislation and regulations applicable to the business and report as necessary to the regulatory authority (HSE).You will have the following qualifications & experience: Should ideally have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemistry, Physics, Systems, or Chemical Engineering, although plenty of relevant experience might be considered. You will be an experienced and talented Head of Quality / Senior Quality Manager who offers multiple years’ experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment; ideally the Automotive industry or similar. You should have knowledge of APQP in particular, FMEA Control plans, MSA and capability studies. Lean Manufacturing knowledge is required, together ideally with six sigma, 8D or similar methodology. You should have a knowledge of IATF16949, ISO9001, or IS/EN9100. An individual with a proven track record in a front-line Quality role most likely within a manufacturing environment who can lead a team is needed here. You should offer strong customer-facing experience. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, together with strong negotiation and people management skills. You will have the ability to present data effectively and will have good problem-solving and analytical skills. You should have a good grasp of Microsoft office suite.It’s great if you also have the following: Experience working with Battery Cell technologies / Energy Storage or similar technologies would be a bonus, but this isn’t essential.
