Micheldever has an exciting opportunity for a proactive Fleet Service Engineer to ensure our vehicles are roadworthy, registered and licensed, establishing training needs as required and facilitating regular meetings. Working with fleet providers and the fleet team, look after Fleet vehicles to ensure that our transport operations are efficient and profitable, scheduling regular vehicle maintenance, making recommendations to management regarding more effective processes and ensuring all company road operations comply to all relevant legislation and ‘O’ licence requirements. * Working Pattern: Working in the office Monday to Friday * Location: from any of our logistics offices Winnall, Walsall, Halifax, Nottingham, Haydock, Chepstow or Ashford * Must have: Full UK driving licence * Package: £35-38K + Bonus + Van * Benefits: Staff Discount, Retails Vouchers, Life Insurance, Pension (see full list below) About You: * Knowledgeable in all aspects of transport management including ‘o’ licence and tachograph requirements * High level of technical understanding and ability to deal with suppliers and customer proactively. * Working knowledge of managing a large commercial vehicle fleet, including management of Operators Licences * Experience of Transport Legislation * Experience of in auditing legislative compliance * Demonstrable understanding of parts costs and maintenance times * National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage preferred but not essential About the role: * Become the main point of contact for all departments within the group regarding fleet maintenance. * Communicate clear and accurate information to the fleet team & all other departments. * Proactively managing all fleet related incidents providing assistance with the service level agreements with the 3rd party repairs. * Manage the fleet team routine servicing, inspections, MOT test, Road fund licence, O licence, endorsements and disposals. * Manage effectively as part of the fleet team, all available resources liaising with the insurance and accounts teams. * Analyse data related to vehicle performance, maintenance, and operational costs, use this information to make informed decisions about fleet management. * Project future needs, such as replacement schedules, maintenance cycles, and upgrades, with the group fleet manager About our company: Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) was founded in 1972 as a part-time venture providing car servicing and tyres.
