Fitter – Bridges Stockport Competitive Salary Are you an experienced Fitter looking to take the next step in your career? Join a leading defence manufacturing business specialising in bridge systems and component fabrication. We’re seeking a skilled Fitter to support our client’s team in Stockport. Key Responsibilities As a Fitter, you’ll play a key role in fabricating and fitting aluminium components to engineering standards. Your primary responsibilities will include: Use jigs and fixtures to fabricate bridge components Work from engineering drawings and work instructions Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections Operate hand tools and measuring equipment Follow health and safety procedures Complete SAP bookings and maintain accurate job records Undertake and maintain relevant welder qualification tests Skills and Experience Time-served apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline Experience in heavy manufacturing or fabrication Strong understanding of fabrication processes, safety, and quality systems Ability to read technical drawings Excellent organisation, communication, and teamwork skills Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Remuneration and Benefits Competitive Salary 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays Benefits: Pension, Life Assurance, Cycle to Work, Shopping & Lifestyle Discounts Training: Ongoing skills development If you feel you are the right person for this role and are looking to further your career please apply for immediate consideration and interview.
