The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experience electrical biased Service Engineer to join a thriving special purpose machinery manufacturer supplying some of the UK’s premier brands. You will be home-based, and working on service, maintenance, and installation of equipment at customer sites which included automated machinery for the packaging industry. Ideally, you’ll have experience working on similar systems with exposure to PLC and HMI systems. Our customer is eager to ensure that employee’s have a good work-life balance to maintain a good quality of life and will work closely with you to manage your diary and work. Duties Responsible for project success working as part of a service team. (1 of 7) Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities. Commission equipment at customer site. Training of Customer Operators, and Management in safe operation of machinery. Maintain customer equipment during routine service visits. Attend customer site during breakdowns and identify corrective measures. Produce accurate maintenance reports. Maintain accurate, fully detailed Service reports. Commission customized products and systems on-site at customer facilities. Modify Control systems in conjunction with the Systems and Project Engineers. Provide post-sales technical support and contact with customers. Background Mechanical and electrical Fault finding and diagnosis experience. Engineering qualification – ONC level or equivalent. Machinery safety Circuit and PLC program’s fault finding. Experience of PLC controls systems. Experience of delivering training on customer sites. Confident with report writing. Experience servicing and commissioning complex automated product handing solutions. For example: Conveyor systems multiple servos variable speed drives HMI controls chain drives Pneumatics and Hotmelt Glue or Tape applicators.
