Engineering Manager Wolverhampton Aerospace Industry Permanent Our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence company, are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team in Wolverhampton on a permanent basis. The company are one of the world’s leading suppliers in heat transfer and fluids management products and services for the military and commercial Aerospace markets and electronics industries. This is hands on position and we require the successful candidate to have a good understanding of Engineering and Design processes, New Product Introduction, configuration management, change control, product development and lean processes. The Role: * Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, the jobholder shall ensure effective support to all projects through availability of necessary skills, tools and process related to the Engineering function. * The Engineering Management role provides the leadership for sustained efficiency improvements of the engineering resource capacity and capability. * The role requires development of the engineering resource within budgets related to development and training, engineering services and process improvement. Responsibilities: * The Engineering Manager shall be required to liaise at all levels of the Company and establish a key focal point with the Engineering Management at EECS. * Accountable for the maintaining technical core skills related to HS Marston product and service. * Accountable for the availability of appropriate resource that ensures successful achievement of engineering deliverables. * Responsible for the meeting of financial budgets related to engineering resource development (including skills training, process improvement, and engineering make/buy). * Responsible for effective and consistent implementation relevant process and governance. * Control of workload into the department and allocation of resource accordingly * Responsible for ‘driving’ continuous improvement. * Responsible for effective integration with other Engineering departments within EECS. * Deliver accurate and reliable departmental performance reporting. Requirements: * Good understanding of Engineering and Design processes, New Product Introduction, configuration management, change control, product development and lean processes. * Experience of managing an Engineering capability * Excellent communication skills and comfortable to liaise at all operating levels of an organisation. * Demonstrated business management skills (possibly supported by MBA) * Engineering degree preferred This position may involve access to export controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
