Engine Test Technician - Stafford £32 - £35 ph FCSA Umbrella (inside IR35) / £22 - £25 paye Long-term – 12-24 mth min Have you Previously Operated Engine Test Beds & able to read, understand & analyse engine data? Have you worked doing this within either Automotive, Aerospace, Aircraft or Similar related industry Would you like to work for a market leader in their field? Role: The successful candidate will join our Engineering team responsible for development of a range of engines & electro-mechanical devices. Duties & responsibilities will include: Data analysis & data interpretation from dynamometer-based powertrain & power system testing & development. Gathering of data plus compiling of technical reports to convey test results. Engine control & calibration work. Dyno based engine fault & performance investigation & reporting. Engine control & calibration work. Production validation, performance, durability & development testing work You should have the following qualifications, skills & experience: Excellent mechanical aptitude & skills, with a good understanding of engines or similar complex system & related systems. Mandatory skills in mechanical engineering fundamentals (preferably engines), assembly techniques and mechanical skills, ability to read engineering drawings, Knowledge of tolerances, limits and fits. Basic understanding and experience of measurement techniques using instrumentation would be advantageous. Time-served in an automotive / engineering apprenticeship or Honours Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with experience of working in a similar role / environment. Working knowledge of precision dynamometer processes & experience of dyno control systems would be an advantage but training will be provided. Experience of working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment and use of investigative techniques to identify and solve problems. Desire to learn new technologies. Good written & verbal communication skills. Proficiency with standard office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc).
