Driver Merseyside, Liverpool £10.42 per hour increasing to £12.45 per hour after 12 weeks - Enhanced rate for Saturdays and Sundays Temporary Do you have a standard DBS on the update service, or are you willing to undergo a DBS? Our client is currently looking for a Driver to join their team on a temporary basis, initially until the end of May. This role is working 37.5 hours per week, and you will be responsible for the delivery and fitting of equipment. As the Driver, you will be required to: * Deliver a wide range of equipment and supplies to premises, people’s homes, and various establishments on a daily basis. * Risk assesses the environment on delivering equipment to ensure the safe installation/ fitting of said equipment. * Schedule work for morning and afternoon visits, prioritising urgent requests and putting work in order to achieve maximum activity during the day. * Safely load vehicle matching delivery sheets against goods. * Fit and demonstrate the use of equipment in people’s homes and establishments as necessary, following training guidelines, ensuring client safety. Use own judgement to assess if equipment is safe to leave or if item requested is unsuitable/ unsafe for client. * Report to the Transport Supervisor/ Assistant daily. Report back to administrative staff regarding failed deliveries or queries on deliveries. * Liaise with lease firms and agreed maintenance personnel on exchange of vehicles for service or repair. To list all problems with vehicle in preparation for the above. * Be responsible for the safety and condition of assigned vehicle and also equipment whilst loading, transporting, and fitting. * Record daily mileage, check vehicle roadworthiness and cleanliness and comply with all legislation affecting use of motor vehicles. To follow the rules of the Highway Code. * Be sensitive to clients when delivering or collecting goods. To give contact numbers to them if they need further assistance. * Collect and distribute mail, pharmacy, and stores to establishments. To deliver and collect medical gases to and from clinics and special schools. To deliver and fit oxygen and nitrous oxide cylinders in dental clinics and special schools. * Move furniture as part of office moves. * Deal with clients, who have fallen or need medical assistance, contacting emergency services if required. * Respond to urgent requests to facilitate hospital discharges, care of patients at home both for nursing and independent living reasons and to support palliative carers regarding equipment provision for their patient. * Report accidents and incidents via the approved channels using approved documentation for recording. * Be vigilant when entering people’s homes looking for any safety or fire risk and advising them of appropriate contacts for assistance. * Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (once fully trained) on equipment, both in store and in patient's homes. * Participate in departmental training on all aspects of equipment or fitting * Attend training on safe transportation of medial gases * Learn all drivers’ jobs within the department and refresh knowledge regularly Person Specification: Minimum 2 years Driving experience Dexterity to fit equipment, especially in tight spaces Manual Handling Be able to schedule work to achieve maximum deliveries Experience of driving a transit type van (small light goods) Excellent interpersonal skills Good communication skills Working without supervision Willing and motivated Sensitive to others especially in stressful situations Flexible to suit the needs of the service To discuss this role in further detail apply online today About Morgan Jones: Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and as an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
