Design Engineer – Recovery Vehicles job posting Design office Design Engineer Recovery Vehicles £40k–£48k per year DroitwichFull-timeOn-siteReports to Engineering Manager Key responsibilities Design and develop mechanical systems and structures for recovery vehicles — bodies, booms, subframes, platforms and hydraulic interfaces Create 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor Produce 2D technical drawings in AutoCAD for manufacturing and assembly Ensure designs comply with safety standards, regulations, and load requirements Perform basic engineering calculations for strength, load capacity, and material selection Collaborate with production, fabrication teams, and suppliers for practical, cost-effective designs Maintain accurate documentation, part lists, and revision control Assist with continuous improvement of existing vehicle designs Required qualifications & experience Education BEng / equivalent in Mechanical or Design Engineering Autodesk Inventor 5+ years — 3D modelling & assemblies AutoCAD 2D 5+ years — detailed engineering drawings Manufacturing Welding, fabrication & machining processes Technical skills Read specs, problem-solve, strong attention to detail Desirable skills Heavy-duty / recovery vehicles Hydraulic systems Structural steel & load-bearing design Independent multi-project management Benefits Competitive salary — £40,000 to £48,000 depending on experience Work on purpose-built, specialised recovery vehicles Career development and long-term growth opportunities Free on-site parking
