Wildwood Technical Recruitment is working with a growing engineering company that designs and builds precision parts and systems for the automotive, aerospace, marine, and defence industries. They are now looking for a Design Engineer to join their friendly and skilled team. The Role As a Design Engineer, you’ll work on a mix of exciting projects – some large, some small. You’ll help take ideas from first sketches all the way through to finished designs. You’ll be hands-on with CAD work and get involved in solving engineering challenges along the way. What You’ll Do * Design and develop mechanical parts and systems from start to finish. * Turn customer ideas and requirements into practical designs. * Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and simple project documents. * Join in design reviews and make improvements where needed. * Work with suppliers, customers, and your team to keep projects moving. * Manage your own workload to hit project deadlines. * Make sure your work meets industry and company standards. What We’re Looking For * A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (relevant experience also considered). * At least 2 years of experience using CATIA V5. * Some knowledge of 3DExperience is a bonus but not essential. * Previous design experience in automotive, aerospace, or defence is preferred. * A good understanding of materials and mechanical systems. * Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and can manage their own tasks.
