Design and Certification Engineer - Aerospace (Permanent Role) A forward-thinking engineering organisation specialising in commercial aircraft modification is seeking a Design and Certification Engineer to join their growing team. This role is instrumental in supporting innovative modifications to aircraft, with a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Design Engineering: Support the development of creative and compliant aircraft modifications Create detailed design documentation including CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications Assist in developing and executing test plans and procedures Certification Engineering: Work with cross-functional teams to meet EASA regulatory requirements and Part 21J standards Prepare and review key certification documents including compliance reports, safety assessments, and risk analyses Support design approvals by engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities Technical Support: Provide design and certification support to production, testing, and maintenance operations Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in both design and compliance Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements across design and certification activities Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory developments Candidate Profile Degree-qualified in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Strong grasp of aerospace design principles and regulatory frameworks Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, 3DExperience) and basic engineering analysis Knowledge of EASA certification processes and requirements Problem-solving mindset and excellent attention to detail Strong communication skills and collaborative working style Prior project or internship experience in aerospace is advantageous
