Contact Data Engineer Location: Remote Day Rate: £450 - £550 per day (Inside IR35) Contract: Initial 6 months Deerfoot Recruitment is working on behalf of our client - a well-established retail organisation currently undergoing an exciting, large-scale IT transformation - to source a skilled Data Engineer for a contract opportunity. This role will play a key part in the modernisation of the business's data estate, supporting the migration from legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based data platform built on Microsoft Azure technologies. The successful contractor will join a collaborative team, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and models, ensuring data quality and accessibility across the organisation. Key Skills & Experience: Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Platform technologies (Synapse, Data Lakes, ADF) Expertise in data modelling, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and data integration Proficient in SQL and Python (ideally PySpark) Knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and DevOps (CI/CD pipelines) Experience working with enterprise data sources and APIs (e.g., Salesforce, MuleSoft) Familiarity with data governance, GDPR, and best practices in secure data provisioningInterested contractors with relevant experience are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.
