An automotive component manufacturer with sites across Europe require a Commodity Manager to manage the strategy and direction of their assigned commodity. The ideal candidate will have a background in first tier automotive and been involved in the direct spend on raw materials. Commutable from: Redditch, Coventry, Birmingham, Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa, Worcester, Kidderminster, Stourbridge Package: £60,000 - £65,000 p.a. +Bonus +Car Allowance +Medical +Enhanced Pension Scheme Suitable for: Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Commodity Manager, Category Manager, Senior Buyer The Role Reporting into the VP of Procurement you will have the following duties: -Responsible for all operational and strategic activities within the given commodity and sub-commodities while ensuring compliance with the business's overall purchasing objectives, strategies and procedures. -Responsible for the management of all the suppliers within the purchasing commodity and sub-commodities group. The Person Educate to degree level or certified to a high level of CIPS you will have the following experience: -Previous experience in direct spend in first tier automotive is preferred but could also come from a fast-paced manufacturing environment purchasing raw materials. -Also, open to the idea of someone from a second-tier raw material supplier in sales management. -Knowledge of purchasing best practices with strong negotiation skills. -Candidates fluent with other European language is advantageous but not essential.
